Dr. Gregory Guzmán from Toledo (Lucas County) has been appointed to serve at the Ohio Latino Affairs Commission. 


Dr. Guzmán currently serves as Executive Director Central City Ministry of Toledo, a ministry sponsored by the Diocese of Toledo, and has held a total of five executive positions at public, private, and non-profit campuses that all are regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. He has also held a variety of other key roles at educational institutions in Ohio and Wisconsin.

Dr. Guzmán’s experience includes roles such as Campus President at Herzing University (Toledo Campus), Assistant Director – Compliance, Student Financial Aid at BGSU and later Vice Provost of Enrollment Management (Interim) /Director of Student Financial Aid at BGSU, Director of Financial Aid at Lourdes University, Director of Financial Aid at Tiffin University, and Higher Education Administrator - Financial Aid/Veterans Coordinator at Owens Community College.

Additionally, Dr. Guzmán held almost three years as Customer Service Supervisor at Great Lakes Higher Education, five years as Board President for Partners In Education, and almost two and a half years as a Board Member for Adelante; the first of which is a non-profit organization in Wisconsin, and the last two being NPOs in Toledo.

Dr. Guzmán has received a variety of awards and honors throughout his career, which includes receiving the 25th “Anniversary Diamante Award” from Diamante Award Organization (formerly Image of NW Ohio), being titled one of the “Top 5 Hispanics to Follow in the State of Ohio” by Impre Media, being honored as “20 Under 40” by 20 Under 40 Toledo, receiving the “James White Award” from The Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators as well as the “Urban All-American Achievement Award” from the Central Cities Ministries of Toledo—and the list goes on and on.
