New Apprenticeship Opportunity for Cleveland, OH

Great Lakes Area Boilermakers is currently accepting applications for their Apprenticeship Program for Local Lodge 744 in Cleveland, Ohio. 

The recruitment, selection, employment, and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, color, religion, national origin, age, or sex. 

Every applicant must supply a copy of their birth certificate and high school diploma or G.E.D. that the Committee can keep at the time of filing the application for apprenticeship.

Each applicant must demonstrate that he or she has access to reliable transportation.

Applicants that have a welding certification or welding training qualifications will have priority selection over applicants with no welding qualifications. Applicants must provide a copy and proof of welding certification or welding training qualification at the tie of application.

Minority and women applicants encouraged.


Ohio Latino Affairs Welcomes
New Legislative Board Member

The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission is pleased to announced that Representative Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek) has officially been appointed to serve as a Legislative Member on OCHLA’s Board of Commissioners. 

Rep. Perales is serving his second term in the Ohio House, and serves on the following committees: Armed Services/Veterans/Public Safety, Economic and Workforce Development, Finance, Finance Subcommittee on Higher Education, State Government. 

As the sole member of the General Assembly inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame, Rep. Perales has been awarded numerous military awards and honors including three meritorious service medals. 

The Ohio Latino Affairs Commission is elated to welcome Representative Rick Perales to its Board of Commissioners; we look forward to the contribution of not only his knowledge and his diligence, but also his desire to serve others and his passion for the Latino Community.
